
Budget & Finance
The Budget & Finance team is responsible for all financial activity related to Residential Services, including the develop and management of the annual operating and capital budgets.
Administrative Services
Administrative Services’ main responsibilities are assignments for both undergraduate and graduate housing and the summer conference program. Additionally, operations such as neighborhood desks, keys, mail receipt and delivery, and opening and closing of all residence halls is a significant part of the work of this group.
Residential Life
Residential Life is responsible for building and maintaining community within all of our types of residential facilities. This includes but is not limited to Resident Assistant recruitment, selection, and training, residential programming, and programming board advising. Residential Life works in close collaboration with the other branches of Residential Services to manage facilities concerns, room changes, co-supervision of front desk operations, and academic programming in the halls.
Construction & Facilities
Construction and Facilities are responsible for inspecting the University’s residence halls and grounds, working with each of our facilities shops to ensure that students are free to live and learn in a safe and healthy environment. Through collaboration with our various campus partners, they are able to assist in enriching the Northwestern student experience by maintaining clean and sustainable facilities.
Residential Academic Initiatives
As a partnership between the Division of Student Affairs and the Office of the Provost, Residential Academic Initiatives (RAI) fosters a seamless undergraduate experience for students who live on campus. Along with stewardship of the residential college system and cultivation of the newer residential community model, RAI is responsible for campus-wide initiatives that provide faculty engagement, academic programming, and academic support in all residential spaces, including traditional residence halls. These programs:

enrich the intellectual, cultural, and social lives of residents by cultivating lifelong habits of learning and responsibility.
